I love RT and those slow building tunes--i.e. Night Comes In, Calvary Cross, Put It There Pal, and many others. He builds his solos a lot like Jerry does, and then hits the climax with intense fanning. LOVE that shit!
Have you heard Loch Lomand by French, Frith, Kaiser and Thompson? My guess is you have (being in Scotland, right?). If not, find it and be blown away...

Oh yes - I know that one - totally over the top and absolutely freakin' awesome!

One of my all time favourite RT songs has to be 1952 Vincent Black Lightning - just impossible to believe what that guy does with a guitar on the live stage.

I listen to RT on almost a daily basis. LOVE HIM. Got the recent 5 CD box set and sent in for the bonus 6th. Can't get enough.

I got the box set some time ago, but never sent in for the sixth. What is the postage requirement?
I, too, listen to RT a LOT. Probably only the GD surpass him in hours of listnening.
I would have loved to see the boys tackle Shoot Out the Lights (Bobby on vocals?), or maybe A Sailor's Life (Jerry?). So many possibilities, forever unfulfilled...
Actually, given Jerry's taste in cover material-- particularly with JGB, it's somewhat surprising he never pulled any RT out of the hat...Meet on the Ledge? For Shame of Doing Wrong? Jer could have worked wonders with some of those heart-wrenching tunes RT specializes in.

Blue Devil--Thanks for the link...Where is that from? RT's living room? Awesome. Attn Forumites: Do NOT miss this link. This guy is AMAZING. I think Jer could of done this one proud...

Better version of the above.

When you got the box, there should have been postcard you could send back to the record co. If you had 3, then you get it. If not, you send however many postcards they gave you (1 0r 2 - I had 2) plus $3 for the 6th. Say they only send it to first 5000 to write in, but I don't even know if they sold 5000. Anyway, this is the track listing:

Bonus 6th CD: “RT on FR”

In addition to the five CDs within the boxed set, the first 5,000 purchasers have the opportunity to write-in for “RT on FR”, a unique and exclusive compilation of Richard’s contributions to previous Free Reed releases, which also includes four bonus tracks, two of which are unreleased.

Thank you, BD--I got 1 postcard. I will endeavor to get my lazy ass moving and send off soon.

Thanks also for the 2nd link. check out Reckless Kelly's version, which you can link to from this page. RT in a tanktop? He's been Britain's Man in Black for many years now...
